The founders of Omina used their experiences as scholars and educators to develop a company they wanted to see for themselves. A safe space where someone’s unique life experiences are just as important as their educational and career aspirations.
Utilizing their combined 35 years of experience in K-12, higher education, non-profit, public, and for-profit work, they teamed up to create Omina. Today, they proudly work alongside clients to implement this safe space.
Gaby Osorio

Gaby has experienced many firsts in her life ranging from education to career and beyond. Her lived experiences led her to navigate uncharted paths, yet she was able to connect with supportive people. Gaby strives to set an example for her two younger siblings, make her parents proud, and continue to inspire others to see their limitless potential. As a co-founder of Omina, Gaby will honor the wisdom she’s gained throughout her journey and share it with all who need it.
Bárbara Guzmán
she/her/ella
Bárbara came into providing guidance very early in her life. Coming from a first-generation household, she learned, and continues to learn, to navigate systems. This was important not just to figure out her own opportunities but to pass this information to her family and community. She is one of the first in their family to enter into an education beyond primary school and a professional career requiring a degree. Neither of those achievements possible without their ancestors paving the way. In honor of them, she continues to learn, inform, and brings this perspective to Omina.
