About us
Omina is a Washington state company founded by two individuals who wanted a different experience when it came to choosing our education and career path. Though we lived miles apart, at one point in different states, and years apart, our journeys had so much in common. We did not know if we could afford a college degree, we struggled to find support systems, and we were clueless as to what economic prospects were available to us.
These concerns were real. Just as real as being undocumented or part of mixed-status families. There was a layer of uncertainty that lingered with every step we took. We knew we weren’t the only ones experiencing this.
We are on a mission to change that.
When we became professionals in the field, we continued to hear the same stories. The difference is we now began understanding the barriers from a systems level, and it helped us envision how to address these challenges differently.
