Why Omina?
It has been over 10 years since immigration policies were announced that changed the way the undocumented population entered the workforce. It has been over 20 years since tuition laws have changed how undocumented students can access a college education in Washington state. Yet, some in the undocumented community continue to believe it is impossible to enter the workforce or be able to pursue a college degree.
We have seen institutions work towards integrating these changes as best they can. But with different policies at the federal, state, and local level, offering consistent career and college support has posed a challenge.
We are here to help you bring these support to the next level.
We conduct trainings and offer coaching, consultations, service development and delivery focused on education and career topics.
Inspired by our undocumented, first-generation, bilingual, and Latine identities and along with the wisdom shared with us from other generations, we are guiding your team to redesign how you approach college and career support services for undocumented communities.
